So many people feel like every aspect of the site has to be packed with visual stimuli, but in reality this can lead to user fatigue and lead to them wanting to leave the site sooner than they would have. White space gives the eye a break and allows the brain to process the information without becoming over stimulated. Make sure your users have a chance to consume the important information, without being overwhelmed by too much “fluff”.

Finally, you want to make sure your text information is clear and well organized. For one, make sure you are using an easy to read font. Those script fonts can be beautiful, but can also be difficult to read on certain screens. You also need to make sure your information is divided up to make it easier to consume. For example, use headings such as H1, H2, H3… in order to divide up your content so that it isn’t one big block of text. Studies have shown that a vast amount of people will simply scan headings for what they are interested in as opposed to reading all of the text. So make all of the important information easy to find and easy to read.
