Introduction

Cone Distributing, also known as Team Cone, started its operations in 1985 when founder Douglas P. Cone, Jr., acquired a small distributorship in Ocala, Florida. With an initial setup of just 13 employees, two trucks, and a 24,000-square-foot warehouse, the company has grown substantially over the years. Through acquiring additional distributorships, Cone Distributing has expanded its service area to cover 22 of Florida’s 67 counties. Today, Team Cone is recognized as a leading beverage distributor, celebrated for its commitment to quality service and active community involvement. To expand their market presence, Team Cone approached us for a website revamp and a comprehensive digital marketing strategy. They aimed to redefine their image beyond just a beverage distributor.

The Challenge

Team Cone, while excelling as a leading beverage distributor, encountered significant challenges in its digital marketing and brand perception efforts. As the company grew rapidly, it struggled with lead generation for new hires, partly due to its website’s lack of user-friendliness and the confusing dual branding of “Cone Distribution” and “Team Cone.” Despite being recognized as one of Florida’s best places to work, the community did not strongly associate Team Cone with the company, hindering its ability to attract top talent.

Additionally, Team Cone’s commitment to team values and community philanthropy was not effectively communicated through their product-focused website. As a beverage distributor primarily within the beer industry, their core values and extensive community involvement were often overshadowed. Recognizing these issues, Team Cone sought a comprehensive overhaul of their website to better reflect their brand identity and enhance brand awareness. They also aimed to boost engagement on social media to more accurately portray their community initiatives and team-oriented culture.
